I am an actor/artist interested in working with Vanishing Point. What should I do?

The best thing is to send us a C.V. We can keep this on file and review it when we are casting a production. Often we approach artists whose work we have seen, but we regularly hold casting workshops in advance of a production and find this a good way of meeting people we would like to work with. If we feel you may be suitable for a production, we will invite you to attend a workshop.

I’m a technician/stage manager interested in working with Vanishing Point. What should I do?

Send us your C.V. We are often seeking good technicians, production managers and stage managers. We will contact you if we feel you are suitable for a particular project.

Do you offer work placements?

We do offer a limited number of work placements. These can range from office-based to production-based placements. If you feel you could benefit from a work placement and are serious about your ability to volunteer, it can be a great opportunity to learn, develop your skills and meet new people. The best thing is to send us a letter outlining you interests, experience and the reasons you feel working with Vanishing Point would benefit you and assist us. We are unable to consider all requests as there is often a high demand.

I am an artist interested in becoming involved with Space 11. What should I do?

In order to be considered for involvement in the Space 11 programme you must be an artist or arts organisation with some track record of producing new work. There is a particular focus on artists creating devised or collectively created work. If you feel you or your organisation should be involved in Space 11, invite us to see your work.

Is it possible to watch Vanishing Point’s work on DVD?

Most of Vanishing Point’s recent work is available on DVD. DVDs are available from the company for a small fee and subject to availability.

Is it possible to buy Vanishing Point’s scripts?

Some of Vanishing Point’s scripts are published and available to buy from booksellers. Unpublished scripts may be available from the company for a small fee and subject to availability. Because of the nature or our work, not all shows exist in full script format.

I would like to stage a Vanishing Point show. Do I need permission?

Yes. Please make a request in writing to our Operations Officer.

Do you offer classes or educational courses?

We hold regular open workshops for professional theatre artists. These take place every year and are usually advertised on the website. We regret that places are often limited. We also offer workshops linked to a particular production. These are available to schools, colleges or other interested groups and are intended to enable audiences to engage more directly with the company’s work. We do not offer acting courses or classes.

I have specific questions about the company’s work. Who should I contact?

If you do have specific questions related to research or study it might be possible for us to help. To make responding easier, try to focus you questions as much as possible so we can answer them concisely. Try to limit the amount of questions if possible and send them to the Operations Officer. If we are able to help, we will. If not we will let you know. We regret that we are not usually able to arrange meetings or interviews.
